It’s always exciting when we hear that a designer is planning a special release of a new pattern, so you can imagine our delight when we found out that two of our favourite people – hat designer and knitter extraordinaire Woolly Wormhead and queen of the dye pots Babylonglegs – are releasing a new hat design alongside some exclusive gradient kits. We feel especially honoured that Sarah (aka Babylonglegs) has chosen Fibre-East as one of the two shows she’s exhibiting at this year. Take a look at the hat in question…

There will be a limited edition of 20 gradient kits as seen above, but there will be plenty of semi-solid and speckled yarns to choose from if you’re not lucky enough to get a kit. And even better, the lovely pair are donating £1 from each kit sold to Fibre-East’s nominated charity.

The hat is nameless at present and Woolly Wormhead and Babylonglegs are giving you the chance to name the hat. Whoever comes up with the winning name gets a copy of the pattern and a specially dyed skein of yarn. To enter, you have to leave your suggestions on either Woolly’s blog post here or Babylongleg’s blog post here. Good luck!
