What a weekend we had! The weather tried to throw as many complications at us as possible – blazing sunshine, strong winds (meaning that the marquees had to be drilled into the playground!) and rain. But it didn’t stop everyone having the most amazing time. Time and again we heard people talking about what they’d seen, what they’d bought, what they were going to buy, new skills they’d been inspired to give a go. We are just so thrilled that Fibre-East is such a unique event, promoting the very best of British fibre arts and crafts. There was plenty to interest knitters, crocheters, weavers, spinner, dyers and felters. The friendliness of the exhibitors and willingness to share their passion, not only by bringing the very best things with them but also in chatting to visitors and the happy, smiling faces of visitors arriving and then leaving later, clutching bags bursting with wonderful buys – these are just some of the reasons that we put on Fibre-East each year. Our Facebook page is full of thank yous from happy visitors which makes us very happy too! If you came to Fibre-East this year, why not leave a comment to tell us what you liked and what went home with you? We’d love to know. Watch out for another blog post soon with news of BritSpin’s fundraising for the East Anglian Air Ambulance, but in the meanwhile, here are some photos to give a flavour of this year’s show.
